Beat #1How to Ollie, Step by Step
- Put the ball of your back foot on the tail and your front foot just behind the front bolts.
- Crouch, then snap the tail down hard so it hits the ground.
- As the board pops, drag the side of your front shoe up the grip tape toward the nose.
- Lift your knees toward your chest so the board can rise with you, then level it out with the front foot.
- Land with both feet over the bolts and bend your knees to soak up the impact.
Ollie Tips
- Pop and slide happen together. Popping first and sliding late gives you a board that never leaves the ground.
- Practise stationary on grass or carpet until the motion feels automatic, then do it rolling.
- If the board comes up crooked, check that your front foot drags straight up, not diagonally.
