- Back foot on the toe-side pocket of the tail, front foot in kickflip position.
- Pop and scoop the tail behind you as for a pop shove-it.
- Flick the front foot off the heel-side corner of the nose.
- Jump up and let the board spin and flip under you.
- Catch it with both feet and land over the bolts.
Varial Kickflip Tips
- If the board only shoves, flick harder. If it only flips, scoop harder.
- Keep the flick light. A varial needs less than a normal kickflip.
- It is a useful stepping stone between the kickflip and the 360 flip.
